  Introduction

   The films show people the story, while the novels tell people the story. According to Monaco, the novels could be narrated either by the first-person narrator or by someone outside it, the omniscient narrator . Most films are also told from an omniscient point view. 

Compare The Narrative strategy

In the twentieth century, there are two culturally dominant wasofexperiencing fiction available to us: the 

visual forms of film and the prose forms of novel. Indeed, these two different media have gained millions of fans all over the world. Many literary masterpieces have been represented through films. Victor Fleming’s Gone with the Wind , Ann Lee’s Sense and Sensibility , Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice  are all based on novels. Quite often, people like to compare the novel with the film that tells the same story, and many people are inclined to agree with the opinion that films could hardly defeat the novels in telling the same story. Presumably, on one hand, this is mainly because of the fact that it is the novel that introduces the story to the readers first. Therefore, whatever the author writes in the story occupies the readers’ mind and become the only “correct” way of telling a certain story. On the other hand, the paper conceives that the differences between novels and films by their very nature decide that these two forms of media will never create 

the same effects on presenting stories.

   

   Think about the setting, the character development, and the plot as you compare the two versions. Try to understand the movie director's point of view as they made changes to the book version while trying to bring it to the big screen. 

  

  The narrative structure, as the term suggests, is the structural framework for a movie. The story is the action of the movie, and the plot is how the story is told. The narrative structure can be either linear or nonlinear. Linear narrative structure is a movie that moves in chronological order.

  

  Narrative writing is a style that allows the writer to tell a story. It can include actual events told in chronological order or it may include imagined events told in a timeline that the author creates. Narrative writing can sustain the reader's attention and help them visualize a realistic experience from the words.

   NARRATIVE FILM – In the simplest sense, Narrative tells a story, and the subjects in the film “play parts.” The presence of structural devices such as title cards, “cast” lists, intertitles propelling a storyline, or a soundtrack with scripted dialogue may signal a Narrative mode of film making.

   

  Narrative analysis is an examination of the story elements, including narrative structure, character, and plot. This type of analysis considers the entirety of the film and the story it seeks to tell.

  For example, you could take the same object from the previous example—the flowers—which meant one thing in a semiotic analysis, and ask instead about their narrative role. That is, you might analyze how Hitchcock introduces the flowers at the beginning of the film in order to return to them later to draw out the completion of the heroine’s character arc.  

Conclusion 

    From the discussion and the sample activity displayed above, it is reasonable to claim that the movie  could enhance the English language teaching in many aspects. Because of its very nature, the movie ould create lots of advantageous opportunities in the language class that the novels couldn’t.
